    About Lindsay Sheppard

Lindsay Sheppard is an accomplished voiceover professional with over 20 years of experience as a voice actor, director, agent and coach in cartoons, video games, anime, commercials, and corporate narration. Her journey into voice acting began during her college years, where she initially pursued a degree in animation driven by her love for cartoons. However, it was while studying that she discovered her true passion for voice acting, ultimately shifting her focus and forging a career that has included over 200 character roles and thousands of commercials and narration projects.

In 2019, Lindsay founded Lone Star VO, an education and community resource for Texas based voice actors, which has since expanded to support students from all over the world.  As a coach, she offers a comprehensive educational experience for aspiring voice actors, blending performance techniques with vital business knowledge gleaned from her extensive career across all aspects of the voiceover industry.

In addition to her voiceover work, Lindsay is deeply passionate about disability advocacy, and volunteers time with the Disabled Voice Actor Database to help raise awareness and attract more inclusive casting opportunities for disabled voice actors.  Lindsay frequently travels to conventions around the country, connecting with fans of her work, talking about voice over and sharing her insights as a disabled voice actor navigating the entertainment industry.  At home she is a mom to two wonderful children that love being behind the mic and wife to an incredible voiceover talent agent that fights to sustain fair rates for the entire industry.

    About Lonestar VO

Founded in 2019 by Lindsay Sheppard, Lone Star VO (LSVO) is an education resource dedicated to enhancing careers and strengthening the community of Texas voiceover artists.  Together we can create a strong Texas voiceover community that fights for fair rates, high standards, confidence in our voices and in one another.  At the heart of LSVO, is our dedication to community, growth, education, collaboration and unity.

Lone Star VO offers a wide range of remotely accessible educational resources designed to support voiceover artists at any level of experience.  For students that are new to the industry, we offer many introductory classes and training opportunities to help you navigate the basics of voiceover work.  As students progress, we offer increasingly challenging classes that expand your knowledge and skills.  For advanced students and professionals, we offer many additional specialty classes and workshops designed to help you elevate your craft in specific genres.

For students that prefer a more one on one approach, we offer private coaching opportunities from industry experts, providing focused, personalized attention to fine tune both your performance skills and business knowledge.  Whether you are looking to break into the industry or refine your technique, there are opportunities tailored to every career stage.

With a team of volunteers and monthly meetups to welcome you to the thriving community and a wide variety of coaches to guide you along the way, no matter where you are in your voiceover journey, Lone Star VO has the resources and support to help take your career even further.

Women in Film & Television Austin is thrilled to be participating in I Live Here I Give Here’s 2025 Amplify Austin Day, a 24-hour fundraising event dedicated to strengthening the nonprofit community in Central Texas. We raised $2,325 last year and our goal for 2025 is $3,000!

We need your support to help us continue our mission of fostering a creative and collaborative culture of conscious opportunities for women working in all areas of film, television, and media. Your contributions will empower filmmakers, provide professional development opportunities, and ensure our members have access to the tools and resources they need to thrive in the industry.

We are grateful for any level of support, and here’s how your donation can make an impact:

$25 – Empower an Emerging Filmmaker Your donation helps provide networking opportunities for women breaking into the industry, ensuring they connect with mentors, resources, and professional development, including an internal job board.

$50 – Fuel a Filmmaker’s Growth Support a workshop or educational event that gives women hands-on experience in cinematography, producing, directing, and screenwriting, helping them build essential industry skills.

$100 – Support Our Signature Events Your donation helps cover the costs of member events, including our holiday party and member showcase, while also providing complimentary fundraiser tickets for our dedicated volunteers.

$250 – Advance Leadership & Visibility Help amplify women’s voices by funding initiatives that place more of our members in leadership roles, including panels, speaker series, and showcases that highlight their work in the screen industries.

$500 – Foster an Inclusive Community Be a changemaker! Your donation helps provide membership opportunities for women who may not be able to afford dues, ensuring that everyone has a place in our collective.

Mark your calendars and get ready to make an impact! Every donation makes a difference in building a more inclusive and supportive film and media industry for women in Austin and beyond.
